LETTER REGARDING OPENING
Dear Parents/Carers 19th May 2020
SCHOOLS INSTRUCTED BY CALDERDALE NOT TO RE-OPEN ON JUNE 1ST
Further to our letter yesterday, I am writing to tell you about the decision made today by the Local Authority. Schools are now being instructed NOT TO RE-OPEN ON 1ST JUNE. Calderdale Authority do not feel that the ‘five key tests’, set out by the Government to keep everyone safe, have been met.

We will continue to plan for when schools eventually re-open (although we don’t know when this will be)
We will continue to update our home learning platforms
After half term, we will contact you to find out if you would like any further resources or support for home learning.
As always, we will write to you as soon as the guidance changes. Thank you all for your continued patience, support and understanding.

Emergency School Closure
Although we remain open for a small number of key worker and vulnerable children, not as an educational setting but as a safe space with a very skeleton staff, we would like to direct you to this advice from the Education Secretary on behalf of the Government.
You should only send your child to school on Monday if you have to, because your work is critical to our COVID-19 response.
If you are able to keep your child at home, you should.
Letters have been sent to those we are expecting. If you have contacted school but no longer need the childcare, please phone the office and leave a message. Alternatively, text the school using our texting service.
