Welcome to St. Andrew's CE (VA) Infant School

I am delighted to welcome you and your family to St. Andrew’s Church of England Voluntary Aided Infant School and Junior School. St. Andrew’s is a very special place for pupils to learn and staff to grow. I have been part of the St. Andrew’s leadership for over 8 years and have been part of leading the school through incredibly successful Ofsted inspections.

Pupils, staff and our governing board are all extremely proud of our schools and all that we provide for our community.  We work hard to learn together, striving to ensure that all our children flourish within a caring, Christian community.  Our Christian vision and values underpin and overarch all our work and support pupils to develop and instil lifelong personal values and positive behaviours for life and learning.

‘Caring’ is the word that our families, staff members and governors use to describe St. Andrew’s. Our pupils are extremely caring and want to do their best, both for themselves and those around them. Our staff nurture our pupils in a safe and caring environment in which children achieve well academically and develop their spiritual understanding.

The Junior School is rated ‘OUTSTANDING’ in all areas by OFSTED and the Infant School is rated ‘GOOD’ with ‘OUTSTANDING’ features (for Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes).  In our most recent SIAMS (Statutory Inspection for Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspections, we were rated ‘GOOD’ (Junior School) and on the new framework, the Infant School was found that it is living up to its foundation as a Church school, and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish. We are incredibly proud of these outcomes as they reflect the hard work and dedication of our whole school community.

We are highly inclusive schools, ensuring that all children access all opportunities.  We set high expectations and continually strive to raise standards by providing stimulating activities and experiences that make learning exciting and enjoyable. We want all of our children to reach their full potential.
