Admissions

For Reception places starting in September, Calderdale Council co-ordinates admissions to all schools within Calderdale. If you live within Calderdale, you must complete a Calderdale online application, even if you wish to choose a school outside the Calderdale area as one of your preferences. Parents of children resident outside Calderdale, who want to apply for a Calderdale school, must apply through their home Local Council.

Please read our School Admission Policy for more information on how to apply and to see our over-subscription criteria. A child who is a regular worshipper at a Christian Church, or who has a parent who is a regular worshipper at a Christian Church, can complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF), found in the link below. This applies for all new starters in Reception and for In Year Transfers.

In Year Transfers

If your child currently attends a different school and you would like them to join St. Andrew’s Infant School, please complete the “Request for a School Place” document linked below. This can then be returned to the school office via admin@st-andrews-inf.calderdale.sch.uk. Alternately if you would like to speak to someone regarding a place or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the school office on 01484 714964.

Once the form is received, we will endeavour to contact you within 48 hours to discuss a potential place for your child. We are a two form entry school and our cap in each class is 30 children (60 per year group). If your request for a place is denied due to us being at capacity, you have the right to appeal this decision. You will find the relevant information and address to send this to in our Admissions Policy attached below.

St. Andrew’s Junior School
The majority of pupils moving on from St. Andrew’s Infant School transfer to St. Andrew’s Junior School. The two schools have a Federated Governing Body and work closely to ensure that pupils make a smooth transition.

Should you have any more questions regarding school admission, please contact the school office who will be happy to assist you with your child’s application.
